Design of Calorifier Tank

Design pressure is important for safety, especially in emergency situations and the thickness of the vessel is calculated based on the design pressure.

Maxhot Calorifier Tank ensures the safety, reliability, and efficiency of equipment and systems used in the chemical, petrochemical, fertilizer, and oil & gas processing industries.

Shell diameter: The shell diameter of a calorifier can range from 6 in to 120 in.

Shell material: The shell of a calorifier can be made from Stainless Steel SA240-304 and SA240-316.

Shell thickness: The thickness of the shell should be greater than 1.75 mm.

Dished heads: semi-ellipsoidal, torispherical, or hemispherical in shape. ​
Material Properties
Design Pressure UG-22(a)
Formula = P + 0.4331*rho*h, take consideration of the internal operating pressure at the top of pressure vessel, fluid height and fluid density.

Hydrostatic Test UG-99(b)
Formula = P*1.3*MR, calculation based on internal operating pressure at top of pressure vessel and minimum strength ratio.

Installation Process
Site inspection is required to ensure the calorifier tank is able to access the plantroom without impediment. After site inspection we will explain and propose the suitable dimensions for customers. (on-site fabrication is available).
​
Later stage we will provide detailed design sheet and quotation. Once customers agreed with the design and pricing we shall provide a details drawing for approval.
​
Next we will work out a timetable for the delivery of the new calorifier tanks.
